Alex Thomas is a Senior Vulnerability Researcher at Defiant, the creators of Wordfence, the leading WordPress security plugin. With over a decade in the cyber security industry, Alex currently specializes in finding zero-day vulnerabilities in WordPress plugins and themes. To date, Alex has identified and helped WordPress developers mitigate 68 unique vulnerabilities.

In addition to his research, Alex supports the Wordfence Threat Intelligence team by contributing to a highly successful Bug Bounty Program and authoring technical and learning content (https://www.wordfence.com/blog/author/wfalext/) aimed at educating the WordPress community. He holds the venerable OSCP and GPEN cyber security certifications.

When not breaking software, Alex enjoys spending time with family, playing guitar, participating in all disciplines of cycling, and reading and learning about various topics.
