Omar serves as the Director of Amazon Pay Americas. Prior to Amazon Pay Omar Co-founded PayFort the leading payment processor in the Middle East that was acquired by Amazon in 2017. Omar also launched Souq.com in Egypt and founded Accelarabia, the first “fintech” in the Middle East in 2005 to help home buyers secure mortgages online. He has been an early contributor to e-commerce and fintech in the Middle East for the past 17 years and is actively involved in the startup community and a mentor to many startups across the Middle East and North America. He also served on American University in Cairo Business School Advisory Board, previous member of Dubai BlockChain Council, Visa EMEA Merchant Council and Egypt Central Bank advisory board.
