Brian Casel

Brian is a software company owner and founder with a background in software product design and designing for the web. He is also the founder of ZipMessage, a tool for swapping video, audio, or text messages with clients and customers asynchronously. It’s loved by professional coaches, consultants, and remote teams who need an easy-to-use async message thread for client engagements and projects.

Previous businesses he founded and operated included:

  • ProcessKit (SaaS, sold and exited in 2021) – A software product for creating and running repeatable business processes.
  • Audience Ops (Productized Service, sold and exited in 2021) – A content writing service where our team produces blog content for a variety of businesses.
  • Productize (Training product, sold in 2021) – A course and community for consultants looking to “productize” and scale their service business.
  • Restaurant Engine (SaaS, sold and exited in 2015) – A software + service that provided website building tools for the restaurant and hospitality industry.

He started his career as a professional designer for the web as a consultant to a variety of businesses from 2008 through 2012. Since then, he’s leveraged these skills to design and build products that power businesses he starts up and operates.

Since 2013, he has regularly hosted and co-hosted podcasts where he shares notes about his work in the software and design industry, and host conversations with friends in this industry. His current podcasts include Bootstrapped Web (bootstrappedweb.com) and Open Threadds (openthreads.co).
